    The issue is scad fragments lvling system is stupid af. At least in sekiro it made sense because you organically gain it while progressing the path. Here the game became a treasure hunt of fragments before you tackle bosses. I played ds3 inc dlc, bloodborne inc dlc, and sekiro. I swear none of them had such faulty systems like in the er dlc. It’s just bad

    I mean, this dlc is cool, but Miazayki just lost his mind. Can we all agree that Radahn is too much? I mean wtf is this shit? Miazayki always trying to one up himself by creating more and more diffucult endgame bosses, and while it sounds cool on paper, there is a fucking line is it not? Malenia was unfair, and after 6+ hours of beating her, i didnt feel anything, that boss drained my fun to the last inch. This version of Radahn is even worse. So what is the goal then with designing this bosses? Get gud, i understand that, i always loved souls games for that feeling of overcoming hard bosses, but there is a line beetween "fun hard" and "just hard". Maybe its just me, and yes, i watched no hit kills of new Radahn already, but as a core fan of FROMSOFTWARE and their games i feel that they are beginning to miss the point of their own genius design. This is a fisrt time in a 10+ years of playing their games when im not excited to wait for the new one.

    Your point about being at an exact 90 degree angle for the final boss attack is pretty bullshit though. When I’m at the point of angling my controller slightly in a different direction just to see if I’ll survive that way, I’m past the point of having fun. It’s cool to figure it out but not satisfying when it’s one move of the 20 you have to learn with other minute changes. It’s not bad game design, It’s just a lack of freedom. Every single other boss was fun as hell though.

    Genuinely I haven't even noticed any issues with hitboxes. The hitboxes are sublime as far as I can tell. I use wing stance on Milady and there's SO many moves you can just jump over with the wing stance r2 and get a big counter in the middle of their combo. It's incredible.

    I know ima get hate for this but just lemme cook. I love shadow of the erdtree to me it’s great, the bosses are insane (esp bayle that mf is my fav) but, I think there is a problem. All of the bosses are the same, they are ALL aggressive and oppressive. Not just difficultly wise. They all just play the same. In the base game you get bosses like maliketh (oppressive and aggressive) and bosses like fire giant (slow-paced but extremely punishable). I’m not saying Mesmer shouldn’t be Mesmer, I’m saying when every boss is Mesmer it makes Mesmer feel less special, ya feel?

      Difficulty wise, it’s perf. I did not wait 2 years to breeze through a dlc. But at the same time I also did not wait 2 years to spend the first hour with all the skill checks. Once you learn what all the bosses do all you have to do is repeat the same thing for the next boss. Wait for the one punishable attack chain, flask, wait again punish. I need a lil unpredictability man. Relanna, redahn, and all the other rememberance bosses play the same, they are just varying levels of difficulty.

    Even though it is an amazing DLC, I absolutely hate it. 1) Way too hard. As a veteran DS1 player who is on his base game run with a 230+ level character, I shouldn't be struggling as much as I am. First 10 seconds in has a tough enemy. First boss I fought tough as hell (got Solitude Armor), and then the giant golem in the first hour. It's supposed to be the starting area, I'd rather not have to struggle the whole way though. I have to constantly swap talismans and weapons instead of having them part of a "build". 2) Worse boss design than base game. Some summoning circles are in the middle of an arena of a very aggressive boss instead of outside the fog gate. Bosses are way more aggressive than they need to be, making it hard to recharge stamina, heal, summon a character, or summon spirit ashes. It really is a shame it is not properly balanced. 3) New dragon forms are complete ass. The amount of effort that went into them are not worth the payoff. You have to take all your armor off, so you have no armor in these forms. They're supposed to boost spells but they are bugged and do not. Even worse, you can't unequip it afterwards so you have to kill yourself to take it off. You get one shot even with 30+ vigor because your defenses are ass. 4) Imagine waiting 2 years for a DLC only for the designers to be lazy as fuck, reskin Radahn, and give him a slightly different moveset for the final boss of the DLC. The whole Radahn twist is out of nowhere and makes no sense at all, akin to the whole Game Of Thrones ending. Shitty ass ending for a DLC. 5) The whole story makes no sense. Miquella wants you to follow him so you can foil his plans? It seems like the ending was more of a half assed last minute change.

    About input reading: The way they designed the fights is actually pretty smart if the bosses actually input read healing flasks. Why? Every time you dodge a combo, and know the openings you can choose to wait for an attack, dodge the combo, and then heal when seeing an opening to. It is obviously much more difficult if it's designed like that but it makes even a heal feel rewarding

    Try to look at it from another perspective. The game tells you the significance of scadutree fragments with a prompt only once (it is mentioned by npcs in a cryptic way). If you miss that or just don’t get it in the moment and don’t look out for them the dlc will be insanely difficult by design btw. You will not beat the dlc, because the people who miss that are not the ones beating messmer hitless. So maybe once instead of blaming the people for not being good, maybe look a valid problems in the system and how it could be fixed. Since so many people complain (they don’t really because it’s because of the anti cheat in china) maybe there is valid criticism!

    I personally loved the bosses but hear me out.. mesmer is a spammer, final boss having a combo that you can’t roll through having an extremely tight window in phase 2 aoe attack is a bit bs, but midra and rellana were 10/10 for me

    I don't understand people complaining. The fundamental principles of from soft games is learning the bosses moves and tendencies. Its no different with the DLC. Learning the attacks with a shield first is a great way to find your strategy. Numerous of the end game bosses are easily parryable and have an elemental weakness.

    I like the way you put it when you say "think outside of the box". I approached this DLC way more open-minded than the original game. I play a battle mage INT/FAI/DEX with 3 different weapons to switch from and multiple spells I pick and choose depending on the situation. I'm having such a blast. Every time a boss is giving me a hard time, I just switch spells more adequate to the boss moveset/weakness, also my weapon affinities and the armor/weapon/talismans/physick itself. I found out THIS is how Miyazaki really intended the game to be played. You have to think which is the best build for each fight and how to overcome the challenge by exploiting its weak points. It's not by chance the entirety of Elden Ring has so many different spells, abilities, weapons and armor sets, You ARE SUPPOSED to use them. But people playing it with a great sword spamming jump attack keep crying the game is too hard, go figure.

    I do agree that this review bombing is ridiculous and most people need to git gud, however I also believe there are flaws in some dlc bosses. It’s kinda sad when you have the character you love to play and you need to respec to a specific build just to beat the final boss, I’ve never done this before, even when I first fought Malenia, I just tweaked my mage build until it worked, but against the dlc final boss, it’s almost impossible to beat him as a mage? So I need to stop being a mage to defeat him? That’s my main gripe with this final boss

    The DLC is hard if you dont collect all the scadutree fragments. if you collect all the scadutree fragments on pace, it's actually very well balanced. I beat Messmer in about 1 hours of attempts without any summons or help I one shot the seed priest before radahn. Currently working on the frenzied flame boss/radahn/Dragon I have INTENTIONALLY stayed at level 156 ( the level i finished the base game) and have not used any souls to level up Problem is the seeds are tedious and boring to find. some are arbitrary like random pot guys

    I'm mad about waiting 2.5 years and picking up smithing stone ones etc. Also very little to do since there aren't really many catacombs etc. 30 months for this? Also bosses kinda meh. Just solod messmer in 10 tries about. So no dlc boss is as hard as malenia.

    The majority of poor reviews are due to FPS dropping rather than boss difficulty. Without sudden FPS drops (especially on the hippo), most bosses are manageable with the generous availability of scadutree fragments

    I feel like the biggest problem of the dlc is that it’s empty and boring. Half the time you spend running through an empty field trying to figure out how to get to another location which is actually impossible to walk to. The Ruins and the Woods feel unfinished and pointless. The dungeons are largely pretty short and uninteresting. There’s no real sense of story - a call to action or a mission. Any music outside of bosses sounded the same as the original or it’s just silence. There are very few explicit puzzles and what’s there is generally very easy.

    Im a casual and I use everything in my inventory.Currently beat 90% of DLC haha! I think those negative reviewers just doesnt have patience to experiment weapons/builds, use game mechanics etc.

    Its come out that the majority of the negative reviews are from China due to a localisation issue and Easy Anti Cheat not working, preventing people from playing. Yes there are some dumb negative reviews but this "review bombing" claim is getting close to being rage bait at this point. I fully agree that the reviews you pointed out are funny/frustrating and that the DLC is great to play but I just think we need to be honest about the issue.

    I playing my first toon even in the dlc on pt 2 at lvl 201 and getting smashed and love it. They just want it to be easy. They need to shut their mouths. I love this dlc. It's so good. Even MH said to see a place and get recked. Leave, get more stuff, and come back. And I never use a shield. They just need to get good. Na mean?

    So far the DLC is mind blowing. A visual masterpiece. I just started it so I can’t really say yet but I think most people complaining are expecting a perfect game matched to their play style. We’ll all I can say is always adapt depending on the boss. Like you said learn what they’re weak to and respect or craft items or use weapons that give you an advantage. I’m a regular gamer and no means good or great but I like to learn from my mistakes and try to overcome them. If I have to use summons or spirit ashes so be it. I’m enjoying the game so far and no complaints from me. 👍

    People are right to be mad about the last boss, but there is nothing wrong with the rest of the DLC. I got through all of it as a lvl 159 int build, and only started really struggling on the final boss and even then I got the boss to 25% hp the first night I unlocked the boss. I refuse to respec into a cheese build, but I have changed my build slightly from what it was. Put in some diff talismans + traded some mind for some extra endurance and I am incorporating some blocking in the fight along with carrian retaliation (3 parries = stun-lock the boss). It still plays more or less the same as before, just a slight bit easier to reach phase 2 which makes my odds of winning better

    the combat is just bad. -bosses does a 3 strike combo -you think its safe to poke so you press rb, nope boss proceeds to do the 4th combo. the game does input reading and its garbage

    Great video. The reviews on Steam are now at very positive ( all reviews 92%). The DLC has been hard (playing two different characters 1 arcane/bleed and 1 str/faith - also have a mage in the wings rdy to go soonish, each started near 175) but not impossible, so far. I've only beat two rememberance bosses and Bayle though. I'm not a huge fan of collecting items for power but it makes sense as the game is 2 years old and they didn't want maxed characters coming into dlc and stomping the content.

    personally what i disliked about most of this DLC's bosses i have met so far [spoiler alert!] (the kind of zombie dragons, the kind of burning golems, the beast in belurat tower, and the female mage knight in ensis castle) was their over-reliance on AOE attacks. in dark souls III for exemple, AOE attacks from bosses fellt more rare, they still happened, but they didn"t fellt like they where the boss's default attack. in this DLC, it does feel like AOE's are thoose bosses's main attacks (and while i eventually managed to beat all the bosses i cited above, it basically always came down to putting my heavyest armor, putting all the proper defensive talisman and the most suited heavy shield i had, and simply alternate beetween jumping to avoid the AOE's who's hitboxes where only ground level, and just shield to tank the AOE's who's hitboxes are too high to be jumped above. meanwhile, in dark souls III (i use it as a comparison because DSIII had, in my opinion, the most skill rewarding gameplay) the big majority of bosses's attacks required a properly timed roll done in the right direction to be dodged , fewer AOEs (and generally thoose had a bit of prep time so you had a chance to run away and drink an estus during thoose) and there was no jump, the fights basically where much more like a rapid choregraphy to learn by heart (especially in cases like midyr), instead of ER's DLC's spamm on health-potions drink (wich doesn't feel right, it just feel like sledge-hammering a square bit into a triangular hole). a good comparison for me, for exemple, is to take the kind of zombie/bone dragons of this DLC and compare to midyr. midyr had rapid combos of various physical (like it's claws and bite-(combos) and non-physical attacks, some moment it flew far away to come back and put a great line of fire, sometimes in second phase some AOEs (either trough direct burst, or trough spiting fire directly on the floor to make one) , sometimes laser-mode, and sometimes some dark-target-seeking projectiles, and quiclkly tried to whip with tail when you went behind him. that fight is very quickly paced and dynamic. but the bone dragons of ER DLC? each time i fought thoose (including the time when i more or less got it right enough to beat one of them, haven't done the other two yet, but they are similar) most of the fight was just the dragon stomping on the floor to create fire AOEs, sometimes it tried to strike with it's tail or wings, but it was very, very rare, and sometimes it flew to better charge, and sometimes spited fire (either mono-direction, or in a sweeping mode) and sometimes the fire directly came out of the rib cage to make an AOE. but in all this pannel of attack,n 90% of the time was just the rapid feet-stomp to make quickly an AOE. (wich fellt very much like the furnace golems btw) i just wish ER DLC bosses's attacks, combos, and proportion of which attacks are used when where made more similar to DSIII bosses instead of simplistic AOE-spamm

    I was thrilled to see that the Ori devs were making a souls like, the Ori games are some of my favorites but I am not touching no rest for the wicked with all the survival and rpg mechanics.

    For one boss I spent 3 hours fight it to learn to parry, and now that I can I ended up parrying 2 of the dlc bosses and now like parrying and play to learn it for the bass game bosses too.
